Troubleshoot Guide

PROBLEM: No sound or low volume

Problem:

Low or dead battery
Battery polarity reversed
Hearing aid turned off
Low Volume
Canal sound outlet blocked with wax
Earmold tube blocked with moisture
Microphone blocked or dirty
Earmold tube is crimped
Component problems
Moisture collected in aid

Solutions:

Check battery and replace if necessary
Make sure battery is inserted correctly
Turn volume control up and/or switch to “M” on BTE’s
Rotate volume control up
Remove earmold from aid and blow air through tube, reattach earmold
Remove wax and debris from microphone with cleaning tool
Uncrimp or replace tube
Contact hearing professional for repair
Allow to dry 2-3 hours or place in Dri-Aid over night

PROBLEM: Feedback (whistling)

Problem:

Ear canal blocked with wax
Earmold not seated properly
Earmold too small
Volume too high
Break in tubing or earhook
Earmold/hearing aid fit loosely

Solutions:

Check ear canal and determine necessity of removal
Check earmold position. Try reinserting/repositioning the instrument until it fits securely
New earmold needed. Consult with hearing professional
Turn volume down slightly
Contact hearing professional for repair
Contact hearing professional

PROBLEM: BUZZING SOUND

Problem:

Low battery
Switch set to “T”

Solutions:

Check/replace battery
Move switch to “M” position
